Huichaira Vineyard is a family-run, high-altitude winemaking project in Jujuy, located at approximately 2,700 meters above sea level. Here Malbec, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc grapes are cultivated on heterogeneous soils with a significant temperature range that promotes slow grape ripening. Their winery, designed to blend seamlessly with the landscape of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, produces Cielo Arriba, a blend that reflects the character of the terroir and can be enjoyed through guided tasting experiences among the vineyards.
Cielo Arriba is a small-production, premium high-altitude wine made in the Huichaira Valley, Tilcara, at over 2,700 meters above sea level. It is a blend of 80% Malbec, 13% Syrah, and 7% Cabernet Franc, co-fermented and aged for 12 months in fourth- and fifth-use French oak barrels, and one year in the bottle.
Cielo Arriba was rated 96 points for the 2021 vintage and ranked No. 36 among the top 100 wines of Argentina in James Suckling's 2024 Tasting Report; it also received 95 points for the 2021 vintage in Tim Atkin's Argentina Special Report 2023, and 95 points for the 2020 vintage in Decanter and James Suckling's 2022 Tasting Report.
