The Pucará de Tilcara is a pre-Incan archaeological site and one of the most important in the Quebrada de Humahuaca, located just minutes from the center of Tilcara. Occupied by the Omaguaca people from around the 12th century and later modified during the Inca domination, this ancient settlement features dwellings, workshops, ceremonial plazas, and corrals that offer insights into the social, productive, and ritual organization of its inhabitants. Its strategic location atop a hill also provides panoramic views of the valley and makes a visit an unmissable cultural and historical experience for those exploring the ancestral heritage of Jujuy.
